Faruq Mahfuz Anam, popularly known as James, is one of the most iconic rock musicians in Bangladesh. As the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band Nagar Baul, he has revolutionized the country’s rock music scene with his powerful voice, soulful lyrics, and electrifying stage presence.

James gained immense popularity in the 1980s and 1990s, becoming a pioneer of Bangladeshi rock. His unique blend of blues, psychedelic rock, and contemporary Bangla music set him apart from other artists.
